Reading
Each student will need to present a booktalk / book commercial each term on a book of their choice that they have read. They have a reading duotang where they keep track of books they read, keep a list of books they want to read and write a Reader's Response each Reading Workshop day. They are given class time to read and write everyday when they have Language Arts.
Writing
Each student has a Writer's notebook where they have an editing checklist and an ongoing writing topics sheet. They will need to hand in a piece of writing to be marked every 2 weeks. These pieces of writing will be known as published and will be kept in their Writing Portfolio.
Library: Our class will be visiting the school library every Day 2. They will be able to sign out books and will have time to read in the library.
